BikePark Wales is the UK’s number one mountain bike facility located at Merthyr Tydfil on the edge of the Brecon Beacons national park just 25 minutes north of central Cardiff. The Park is now an internationally recognised destination and a mecca for mountain bikers, descending on Mynydd Gethin, a 491-metre summit. BikePark Wales is a young, successful business which is growing fast. The current offering includes over 40 world class mountain bike trails, a vehicular uplift service, café, bike shop, bike hire, coaching and events but an ambitious development plan is now underway to both improve the existing services and add new products and facilities to the existing site.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Food & Beverage Manager to spearhead the food and beverage operations. This exciting opportunity will allow the successful candidate to grow our current offer, using imaginative and creative concepts. As the successful candidate you should be experienced in front house management and ideally have the skills and confidence to step in and support the team. Reporting through to the COO, the successful candidate will be expected to take full ownership of their area with a focus on delivering a high quality, seasonal offering, with an emphasis on local, ethically sourced products. You should be exceptionally driven to deliver world class customer service, through creating a world class culture of engaged team members, who are ‘foodies,’ like you!
You will be responsible for your departments stock management, Health and Safety, strategic developments, and operational successes through being a forward thinker who is aware of food trends and capable of creating new offerings as the business expands.

Responsibilities to include:
* Lead the F&B team in delivering exceptional service to all our visitors, ensuring that customer experience is at the forefront of every decision
* Build a strong, united team by attracting, recruiting and training to deliver a world class service
* Lead on the F&B teams group and personal development plans, to nurture the absolute best from the team, creating a fun and engaging environment
* Effectively plan and manage the rotas for all F&B staff including the day to day running of the team
* Lead the team in creating a one team culture that is enthusiastic about delivering great food
* Maximise sales and revenue by consistently meeting and exceeding customer expectations, fostering employee engagement, and maintaining a strong focus on quality and efficiency
* Work with the Executive team in setting and achieving the department KPIs
* Work with the management team and Head Chef to build out creative food offerings, while monitoring the products that work or don't for any reason
* Handling customer complaints, should they arise on the day. Managing any issues as they arise on the day, in a calm manner that allows the customer experience to be unaffected.
* Ensure the F&B team are consistently adhering to company policies and legislative requirements
* Working with Health & Safety Manager to create a safe working environment for the team and visitors
* Ensure all F&B signage including website is correct and up to date with key information on menus, pricing, supplier products, allergen info
* Ensure the overall look and feel of our café, Apres and Shack areas are on brand and the Experience we can offer our customers is of the highest standards.
General team duties:
* To adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems.
* To co-operate with relevant health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures in the performance of the duties of the post.
* To carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post in compliance with the Company’s equal opportunities policies.
* To maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.
* To understand and comply with the Company’s environmental policies
* To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibilities of the post
* The ideal candidate will have a passion for and previous experience from a quality food and beverage environment
* Minimum of 1 years’ experience in leadership, at management level is essential for this role
* Solid understanding of Food safety regulations and impeccable food hygiene standards
* Level 3 in food hygiene Certificate
* Experience in and understanding of stock, pricing, and its movement
* Exceptional personal standards and understanding of customer service
* Outstanding organisation and planning skills and a good eye for detail. Identifying a potential problem and acting quickly to resolve it
* Excellent people skills with the ability to build strong relationships, internally and externally across all teams, effective communication skills both verbal and written
* A hard working and adaptable manner, with a solid common-sense approach
* A knowledge of health and safety procedures
* Active approach to improve standards across the site
* Good IT skills (restaurant management software, Microsoft office package)
* A keen interest in MTB and BikePark Wales
* Full DBS certificate
* First Aid Qualifications/Experience
* Ability to communicate in the Welsh language
