The Post Holder will be responsible for leading the operational Security teams, responsible for Security management, Security budget, operational Security and trust wide security assurance and strategy.
The Post Holder will provide operational management and support to all users of the Security services in an efficient, effective, and timely manner whilst leading, motivating and supporting the Security services as a whole. This role will also include Security assurance and strategy, provide reports, and subject expertise in relation to all attended meetings. Included within the scope of security services will be the responsibility and oversight of the ID and Swipe Access Entry across the Trust as well as Car Parking Permits for staff.
This role will also incorporate the Deputy Responsible Person for the Operations and safety of the Helipad. The Postholder will deputise and have responsibility for the operation, production of documentation and ongoing safety reviews of the HHLS.
This role will also provide the operational delivery and management of the Car Parking, Grounds Maintenance and security staff to ensure a safe, effective, efficient service is delivered for UHPNT, its patients and associated Staff. The role also includes the line management of a facilities support officer who manages the Car Parking Permit applications process as well as providing Trust ID cards and managing the associated access to areas for staff.
Main duties of the job
The Security Operations Manager oversees security management within the Trust, ensuring the safety of staff, patients, and visitors. This includes ensuring compliance with statutory security obligations and advising senior managers on strategic, tactical, and operational security matters.
Key responsibilities include managing sensitive security information, investigating security incidents, and ensuring appropriate actions are taken. The manager leads the security team, ensuring effective service delivery, meeting performance standards, and striving for continuous improvement. They also maintain the Trust's risk register, review restraint incidents, and ensure the security of assets and premises.
The role involves collaboration with external agencies such as the police and NHS counter fraud specialists, and managing security-related services, including car parking and grounds maintenance. The manager oversees ID card and access control systems, and manages the staff parking permit system in line with Trust policies.
The role requires strong leadership, budget management, and an understanding of security systems and policies.

Security
To ensure the management of the security staff to ensure the optimum safety of staff, patients, and visitors to site, adhering to all procedures and protocols.
Attend numerous operational, assurance and strategy security meetings.
Manage and investigate security DATIX/Complaints and issues raised from PALS/Safeguarding teams, following the process, and taking the appropriate action required. These can be complex and sensitive issues that would require the utmost care when dealing with.
Manage Physical Security systems Fences, lighting, locks, CCTV, access control systems, alarm monitoring.
Ensure workplace violence, theft and other security related incidents are investigated and reported thoroughly.
Monitor and audit all bodycam footages to ensure they fall in line with trust policy and procedures.
Ensure the Security Budget is managed efficiently.
To monitor and ensure that all Security training is up to date and documented.
To ensure that all security Health & Safety Risk Assessments are up to date.
Provide Security Assurance reports, attend all meetings relating to Security Assurance and present reports.
To Develop local solutions to security issues.
To be one of the primary points of contact for staff and the police.
Provide security advice and expertise to senior managers including directors and executive directors to ensure the trust meets its statutory obligations in respect to Security Management.
Helipad
To have a direct line of accountability to the Responsible Person
To support the Responsible person in the management of the Heliport and deputise for them as and when required.

To ensure the delivery of a first class, patient, visitor, and staff focused parking service.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Essential
* Significant demonstrable experience and record of success in a management role within Facilities.
* Able to present and communicate confidential, highly sensitive and complex information relating to security to all levels, including Trust Board.
* Demonstrable Experience implementing security assurance and strategy-based concepts.
* Demonstrable Experience of utilising lived experience perspectives and insights in a strategic leadership role.
Desirable
* Demonstrable Experience of Policy development.
* SIA License
Qualifications
Essential
* Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of demonstrable experience and training.
* Management / Leadership qualification or relevant experience.
Desirable
* Level 5 ILM or equivalent.
* Working towards/or holds a BTEC Security Management qualification.
* Mentorship or Supervision Training.
APTITUDE & ABILITIES
