Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Administrator to join their team. The successful candidate will provide modern, efficient, and customer-focused administrative services to support various functions within the organisation. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to supporting internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide professional administrative support to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
* Prepare and collate documents, reports, and statistics for management and committees, including board reports and statutory returns.
* Maintain and update databases, spreadsheets, and filing systems, handling sensitive information with care.
* Support meetings by preparing materials, taking minutes, and following up on action items.
* Handle general office duties, including correspondence, mail processing, and requisitioning of supplies.
* Administer specific processes across various directorates, such as finance, HR, and service delivery.
* Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing queries and complaints efficiently.
* Issue and reconcile petty cash, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
* Provide cover for administrative functions across different geographic locations as required.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of administrative processes and systems.
Essential Criteria:
* 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above, including English and Maths.
* At least two years of experience in a demanding office environment performing a range of business support tasks.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a strong customer service orientation.
Desirable:
* Experience taking minutes and producing action plans from meetings.
* Experience working within local government or the public sector.
