Here at Capita and Entrust we are going through some exciting expansion within our business and we are now looking for some experienced payroll professionals to join us as a HR Payroll Assistant.
Working from home you will provide payroll support to the schools and multi-academy trusts that we look after, from onboarding new customers to maintaining employee records in existing clients and managing pensions form submissions, this role is varied and interesting.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record in providing payroll support, good working knowledge of operational HR and payroll, ideally, we would also like someone who has worked in an education setting (schools, local education authority) although this is not essential.

Job Description
What you’ll be doing:
1. Complete the on-boarding process for new customers, supporting the Team to take action to ensure employee records are updated with required payroll information to avoid any pay issues.
2. Maintain and update employee records to ensure appropriate, accurate and timely payments and deductions are made and employee files are kept up to date.
3. Take ownership of HR & Payroll queries, supporting colleagues and liaising with colleagues as appropriate to ensure accurately and timely resolutions are provided to customers.
4. Develop a full understanding of relevant pension schemes to ensure bandings are operated, deductions made as appropriate.
5. Completion and submission of relevant pension forms including but not limited to, opt-outs, opt-ins, retirement requests to the pension administrators. Supporting colleagues and any associated queries from pension administrators as required.
6. Adhere to client policies and procedures to ensure accurate application of absence schemes to employee records.
7. Accurately process payments and deductions in respect of employee benefit schemes e.g., Child Care Vouchers, Cycle to Work, Annual Purchase Schemes.
8. Manage and monitor own workload through the Customer Relationship Management System to ensure individual targets, response deadlines and Service Level Agreement time frames are consistently met. Supporting colleagues and raising concerns with the Senior Advisor as required.
What we’re looking for:
1. A proven track record of working in payroll
2. Ideally some experience of working within schools or a local education authority
3. ICT Literacy, knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
4. Numerate and literate, with excellent accuracy and attention to detail
5. Ability to interpret and apply policy and procedures
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
7. Effective and active team working
8. Ability to prioritise and organise workload effectively within a deadline reacting calmly and effectively to constant changing work situations
9. Experience of using a Client Relationship Management system
