Paediatric Staff Nurse - Children's Day Procedures Unit

Main duties of the job
Our newly developed Day Procedures Unit incorporates all elective day surgery and planned day case admissions. Patient admissions vary across planned blood transfusions, medication infusions, complex investigations, and elective surgery across multiple specialties (Dental, Ophthalmology, general surgery, ENT, orthopaedics). As such, nursing staff must be skilled, clinically competent, and highly organized paediatric nurses who are able to safely and efficiently manage a high turnover of patients with complex care requirements.
Nursing staff will support and assist in the delivery of professional nursing care to patients, ensuring the highest possible standards of care are received by patients and their carers. Responsible and accountable for the assessment and planning of care for designated patients from admission to discharge. Utilises and integrates evidence into practice. Communicates effectively and efficiently with multiple professionals to support the continuity of care across multiple clinical areas.
