Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to become a core member of our maternity team, as a band 3 Maternity Support Worker. Within this role, you will support the acute maternity services, including the Antenatal Clinic area. If you are passionate about supporting registered practitioners to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to people during pregnancy and the post-natal period, then we want to hear from you. You will be working in partnership with women, birthing people, and their families to provide advice and support. We will help you develop a working knowledge of support services available to families.

Main Duties of the Job
Your day-to-day role will vary but will include:
1. Gaining consent before providing care.
2. Looking after and removal of catheters.
3. Venepuncture and taking cannulas out.
4. Observations - oxygen saturation levels, blood pressure monitoring, body temperature, pulse rate.
5. Documenting these observations both electronically and in the maternity health record, and acting on the information.
6. Supporting families in their choices for screening and immunisations.
7. Providing support and assisting families in their choices for feeding their infants.
8. Participating in antenatal classes.
