Responsibilities
1. Develop precise and comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring all elements are accounted for.
2. Track and manage project budgets, providing timely financial updates to stakeholders.
3. Perform cost analysis and value engineering to achieve cost efficiencies while maintaining quality standards.
4. Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to evaluate the financial practicality of project designs.
5. Examine contracts and agreements to ensure they align with financial regulations and industry practices.
6. Support the creation of tender documentation and assess contractor bids effectively.
7. Keep detailed and accurate financial records for all aspects of project expenditure.
8. Advise on procurement strategies and aid in the selection of subcontractors and suppliers.
Qualifications & Expertise
9. Strong knowledge of NEC Option A and JCT forms of contracts.
10. Hands-on experience in Quantity Surveying, particularly in civil engineering and highways projects.
11. Proficiency in negotiating and finalizing cost engineering variations.
12. Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors efficiently.
13. Expertise in cost control, management, and forecasting for large-scale projects.
14. Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities, with a knack for fostering strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
15. Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
16. A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, complemented by professional certifications (e.g., MRICS or equivalent).
