Operations Analyst

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Operations Analyst to join our IT team. Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure and Architecture and working alongside service operations colleagues, the Operations Analyst plays a pivotal role in maintaining all our operational technology across the NEC Group. The role is focused on ensuring that the performance of our technology is optimised, performing infrastructure and application upgrades, conducting analysis and resolution to any incidents, and delivering on key projects.
We’re looking for an individual who:
• Has proven experience in a 3rd line operational role with a focus on service operation.
• Has excellent troubleshooting techniques to resolve issues and implement root fixes.
• Is experienced in delivering and ensuring compliance to group architectural standards.
• Has excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Is familiar with facilitation, workshop, requirements management, and testing methodologies.
• Has extensive experience of supporting common server and client operating systems and related technologies.
• Has a good understanding of networking concepts and technologies such as, Wireless networks, LAN, WAN
• Has proven supplier management skills in relation to incident resolution.
• Has a good understanding of technical skill areas like cloud-based technologies (Microsoft Azure), Microsoft Databases (SQL 2012+), and security concepts.
• Has detailed technical knowledge in hardware builds (client/mobile/server), client and server operating systems, virtualization technologies, client software packaging tools (SCCM), Microsoft Active Directory, enterprise server & storage solutions, collaboration toolsets (SharePoint Online & Office 365 suite), telephony, monitoring and alerting, and error log retrieval and analysis.
• Is experienced with Microsoft Azure Portals, Microsoft Entra ID Portal, Microsoft 365 Admin Portals including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Defender.
• Has an understanding of Microsoft Licensing.
• Is experienced with VMware vSphere and Veeam Backup and Restore.
• Has knowledge of typical WinTel Administration.
• Has SCCM and WSUS knowledge
• Is experienced with Group Policy Objects (GPO).
• Has knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory and the broader Microsoft eco-system
• Has the following qualifications: ITIL v3 Foundation certification, single or multiple qualifications to MCSE level or equivalent relating to the above technology areas, Microsoft Azure certification, Microsoft 365 certification, VMware certification.
In order to provide our out of hours service to the business, this role will be required to work the on call rota, which is 1 shift every 5 weeks between the hours of 5pm – 9am.
