The Role
My client are a market leading importer and distributor of products supplied directly into the construction industry, with multiple depots in the UK. This is an integral role for the company and key to the efficient running of the centralised procurement department. The company are in a very financially stable position and are turning over £70million + per annum. This role will suit an experienced Buyer, Category Manager, Procurement Coordinator, or Procurement Specialist who is looking for a fast paced role and is keen to make cost savings and implement fresh strategies.
Package
* Salary up to £37,000 DoE
* 33 days holiday including statuary, rises with time served

Responsibilities
* Support the Senior Buyer with the day-to-day running of the procurement department
* Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders
* Be proactive in negotiating terms/prices whilst maintaining quality
* Monitor stock levels and ensure inventory is optimum to keep up with demand
* Run initiatives to improve current processes and implement new procurement strategies
* Work closely with other departments
About You
* 3+ years’ experience in a procurement or buying role
* An understanding of products used in the construction industry
* History of negotiating with suppliers
* Ideally CIPS qualified (this is not essential)
* Good understanding of procurement processes and best practice
