Global Manufacturing Engineering CoE Director ndash CoventryBased in Coventry and with a responsibility for the delivery of engineering projects, programmes and services to our clientsrsquo customers across the globe, the Global Manufacturing Engineering Director has a department consisting of 4 regions and 13 technical centres servicing a range of delivery needs. This role will have a joint requirement for working with Programme Leads and Engagement Managers to ensure projects and services are adequately resourced and have the right balance of competence, skills and experience to maintain the target levels, GP performance. Additionally, the role is responsible for identifying and focussing on industry market trends and ensuring that lines of service are adapted or created to maintain competitive offerings and ensuring processes, methods and best practices are consistently applied.Scope of Role/Accountabilities/ResponsibilitiesGlobal responsibility for Technical Excellence for Manufacturing Engineering Auto / IHM / Aero, technology development robust delivery to programmes and servicesGateway delivery to programme and services needsComponent /system best practice and performance deliverySkills, training and development, recruitment and manning vs. programme and services needsBusiness Development including client face offInput to proposal development, research and new technologies, innovation strategy and investment planning for equipment and facilitiesStrategic Leadership in developing technology roadmaps and delivery execution plansAuthoring Engineering Statements of Work to meet client requirementsDevelopment and implementation of business and technology plans that are compatible with our clientsrsquo Level 1 Objectives, Goals, Strategies MeasuresAwareness of market trends and developments in order to influence and manage future developmentEstablishing and maintaining standards, processes, consistency and quality for deliveryProviding appropriate support and guidance to Programme and Project Leads and Engagement Managers to meet client requirementsKnowledge / Experience at a degree level and aboveProven track record of leadership within industrial manufacturing industry Auto / IHM / Aero from a process, facilities and tooling perspective from initial concept development through to launchExperience of managing team of engineers performing tolerance calculations simulations, process planning SOS, Time studies, Workplace design optimization, Product try out PTO pilot productionPPLead feasibility and provide input to product development teams on DFA and DFM considerationsResponsible for developing Bills of Process and authoring assembly process and managing global teams on / near and off - shoreLead assembly tooling facility strategies, resource estimates for bids, RFQ creation, procurement, vendor selection management, design and build, installation, commissioning and prove out at the assembly site for Body Shop, Paint Shop, Trim and Final TCF, Weld shop Press Shop for Green Brown fieldGood understanding of all digital manufacturing techniques and simulationsDefine Make vs Buy strategies Knowledge of ISO, SAE customer specific standards
