If the answer is yes, then this could be a great opportunity for you The Opportunity A new opportunity has opened up for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our client's specialist nuclear team to help lead the High Voltage & Low Voltage electrical services for DIO in the planning, oversight, supervision, and assessment of the production of the infrastructure design documentation. This will include planning for and supporting integration with internal project stakeholder groups as well as external customer stakeholder groups. Contract or Staff Position This role has been deemed inside IR35 Duration: 12 months 3 office & 2 work from home days. Occasional site visits Your duties and responsibilities will be Attendance at design review and project meetings. Attendance at Hazard Identification Workshops, optioneering reviews and other stakeholder meetings. Originating and reviewing of engineering documentation. Stakeholder Management. Identify project functional requirements and stakeholder needs for assigned project. Manage Consultant engineering support to the project. Support project optioneering process. Review and accept project drawings and documentation. Manage detailed design activities in accordance with project standards. Carry out technical assessment/approval of contractors work instruction/method statements/risk assessments. Provide technical supervision of construction/deconstruction activities to ensure compliance with design intent. Specify and provide technical supervision of commissioning and/or decommissioning. Liaise and consult with stakeholders throughout project life cycle to ensure efficient and effective project delivery. Comply with all Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality policies, procedures, work. instructions and risk assessments and support the continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality on Site. As the Electrical Engineer, you will be expected to support delivery within their range of skills, knowledge, experience and competence. Contribute to the effective development and delivery of training within own area of specialism. Additional tasks may be specified as required within the overall envelope of provision. Any engagement of this nature will be agreed on a task-by-task basis as part of the role. Leading working groups, meetings and reviews with Consultant / Contractors. Authoring, development, assessment, maintenance and management of the suite of Nuclear Infrastructure Design Substantiation documents. Management of design changes/concessions. Production and development of Examination, Inspection, Maintenance & Testing (EIMT) Schedule, operating procedures and results to satisfy design requirements and safety case through life. Producing Periodic Review of Safety reports. Providing advice and direction to internal and external stakeholders. Production of Independent Technical Review (ITA)/Independent Peer Review (IPR). Use a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology. Apply appropriate theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate, maintain, decommission and re-cycle engineering processes, systems, services and products in a nuclear/high risk environment. Producing robust technical justification to allow for relevant civil/structural design modifications to be authorised within a high hazard industry. Review technical reports and other safety case submissions from external contractors.You will have the following qualifications and experience HNC or relevant experience.The setting for the role Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
