We’ve only really ever cared about making great food.
We believe quality comes from acting with pride, care and consideration. It’s all about the detail, that’s where our attention is and that's where we need you.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Compliance Manager to take responsibility for maintaining and continuously improving the Quality Management System across all areas of the business, from goods in, through to production to dispatch and transport. This role would perhaps suit a Quality Manager, with experience of leading a team, who is ready to take the next step in their career or an existing Technical or Compliance Manager working within Food production/FMCG, looking for an excellent long-term career opportunity with scope to develop.
What you will be doing:
* Primarily office-based but with regular face-to-face contact with your production-based colleagues, you will review HACCP and traceability documentation, providing trend analysis.
* Demonstrating compliance to BRC standards and helping to actively maintain our AA* accreditation.
* The key point of contact for all technical QMS and data control on site.
* Reporting results from GMP and non-conformances to senior managers.
* Provide ideas for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all quality systems.
* Produce and disseminate reports following audits in order to provide expert guidance and support to our team of managers.
* Maintain an understanding of new and current food safety legislation and ensure compliance within our teams by sharing information with relevant stakeholders where necessary.
* Responsible for continuously reviewing our food safety procedures and practices in order to suggest possible improvements to ensure that these remain compliant and relevant.
* Assist with periodic internal and external compliance audits and external audits of contractors to ensure that we are compliant with our standards.
* Oversee the specifications and artwork function, providing senior support in maintaining the product and packaging specifications database and signing off brand/customer artwork.
* Conduct export approvals.
* Ensure that standard operating and cleaning procedures are correct and regularly reviewed.
* Support document control systems by drafting required documents.
* Ensure certificates of analysis are received for all relevant products and non-conformances reported.
About You:
In a customer-facing role, you must be an ambassador of our brand. You commit to maintaining high standards of behaviour and personal appearance, endeavouring to contribute to our quality and service ethos.
* You will have an analytical mindset, possessing a strong ability to read and interpret documentation such as legislation changes.
* You will have a "right first time" approach but will build strong relationships to develop credibility.
* You perform your work with energy and drive.
* You’ll love the detail and always ask ‘why’.
* You have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence, caring about the detail.
* You'd probably describe yourself as a "little nerdy" but will present your information to others in a way which is appropriate to the audience and helpful.
