Business Development Manager - Yorkshire & Humberside
The Business Development Manager is a key position to drive growth within this 100 year old regional lighting specification organisation.
The focus of the role is to achieve the agreed targets for project delivery through the support of Architects, Consultants, End Users, and Contractors. This is achieved through the specification of products and services with the objective of maximising market penetration within Yorkshire & Humberside and achieving year on year growth whilst increasing market share and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Establish strong, long-term client relationships with key stakeholders at named accounts (e.g., architects, installers, end users, consultants) throughout Yorkshire and Humberside.
2. Plan and arrange visits to clients to adequately cover the current and future specification sales opportunities within the sales territory.
3. Present the company's lighting expertise and products to Architects, Specifiers, End Users, and Contractors outlining features and benefits to achieve maximum sales volume and margin.
4. Develop close working relationships with key influencers within the specification sales channel to raise the profile and professional standing of the brand.
5. Promote the company image to establish a quality organisation in terms of client service and product integrity.
6. Manage projects from inception to completion to ensure maximum benefits to the company with minimum disruption.
7. Gather market intelligence including competitor analysis and communicate this information to the UK Commercial Director monthly.
8. Ensure credible and reliable input to the forecasting process in conjunction with regional leadership teams.
9. Deal effectively with client administration issues and quotations to expedite specified orders.
10. Handle after sales issues in conjunction with the Commercial and After Sales quality team to ensure excellence in customer service.
Person Specification and Background
1. Proven track record of achievement covering Yorkshire & Humberside within the Lighting / Electrical industry.
2. Able to demonstrate core competencies: Sales Account Management, Negotiation, Presentation, Results Driven, Decisiveness, and Entrepreneurial skills.
3. Ability to build effective relationships in a cross-functional work environment.
4. Proactive self-starter with strong self-motivation and willingness to make things happen.
5. Good level of English language (spoken and written).
6. Strong IT Skills.
7. Full UK Driving license.
Competitive base salary is offered plus uncapped generous bonus based on profit contribution, as well as car or car allowance around £450 per month. Medical insurance, pension, and death in service.
