West London NHS Trust provides a full range of mental health, community and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.
We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist, interested to join a team of enthusiastic and committed professionals in delivering the Prime Minister's Challenge on Dementia (2015) and the NHS Long Term Plan for Older Adults Mental Health services (2019) in the London Borough of Ealing.
This post is a community-based Senior Occupational Therapist. They will work under the supervision of a B7 Specialist Occupational Therapist and will be responsible for supervising Therapy Assistants, OT apprentices, and/or OT students. They will also be part of the wider OPMHS Occupational therapy team across the three boroughs.
Main duties of the job
This is a B6 post based in the vibrant London Borough of Ealing.
The post holder will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team and the wider occupational therapy team within the older people's mental health service line. Patients referred to this service are those with cognitive impairment requiring dementia screening and potential diagnosis.
The Occupational Therapy service provides pre- and post-diagnostic support, including cognitive rehabilitation, environmental modifications, advice on dementia design, equipment provision, and advice to carers/family members. Occupational therapy services conduct comprehensive assessments using standardised and non-standardised assessments to provide holistic interventions. They also collaborate with activity coordinators and psychology colleagues to facilitate group and individual therapeutic activities, either in the clinic or through electronic platforms.

Qualifications and Training
* BSc (Hons) or equivalent Occupational Therapy qualification
* HCPC Registration
Experience
* Post qualified experience within Older people's services
* Working within NHS Older People's services
* Application of core OT skills and OT process
* Multidisciplinary team working
Knowledge and Skills
* Understanding of Clinical and environmental risk
* Equality and diversity
* Understanding of team dynamics
* Awareness of need to work within appropriate boundaries
* Principles of clinical governance
* Evidence of post-qualified training in Mental Health
* Relevant current legislation, NICE guidelines, CPA, risk assessment and risk management
