We are recruiting for a Regional Safeguarding Officer to join our Asylum Accommodation and Support Contract (AASC) where we offer a range of services and improvements, with particular focus on assisting individuals through the asylum system.
You will build and maintain working relationships with our vulnerable service users who are in need of support and establish robust relationships with key external stakeholders in order to enable access for such service users to appropriate service intervention and support. Working across our Midlands & East of England Region (MEE) you will ensure vulnerable service users and staff are effectively safeguarded from risk.
What you'll need to do the job
This an opportunity for a resilient individual with very strong capabilities and knowledge of duty of care services in England, and their associated role in providing support for vulnerable people. Such a role requires robust communication skills in managing stakeholder expectations.
This is a critical role that requires you to hit the ground running. To achieve this, the below are requirements for a successful candidate:
- Managing stakeholder relationships (internally and externally), alongside proven experience of making presentations to stakeholders with success in delivering messages effectively
- Experience of identifying and managing safeguarding needs in vulnerable people and dealing with challenging people and behaviours
- Experience of handling difficult situations/conflict
Finally, flexibility and commitment are essential
- you will be expected to travel within the regions and occasionally within the UK (a valid UK driver’s licence is essential). You must be prepared to travel regularly to customers and suppliers, typically within the regions.Important Information: Security Clearance at CTC level (Counter Terrorism Check) and CRB clearance required (Serco Civil Government is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office).
