This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for delivering the following.
Supports the Maintenance Manager in the upkeep of the building through completing tasks as and when is required.
Take responsibility for supporting any items of maintenance requiring action from suppliers and supporting the suppliers in providing a positive service in a timely and efficient manner with little disruption to the business.
Assist with all relevant aspects relating to the welfare and gaming requirements of all external and internal customers. For example, ensure all areas of the building are safe for employees and customers; assist in compiling preventative maintenance schedules; oversee all recycling and waste management activities.
Provide handyperson duties such as repairs; basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical works; maintenance and construction; checking of fire fighting equipment; carrying out periodic checks on Fire alarms and emergency lighting, assisting with the distribution and storage of deliveries.
Carry out repairs and maintenance work as requested by the Maintenance Manager & Facilities Supervisor and ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently and with minimum disruption to guests and members of the public.
Ensuring the availability of all raw materials, tools, spare parts and other equipment for doing repair works. Assistingin the day-to-day activities of residential and commercial establishments.
Effectively accepting delivery of goods for tasks allocated.
Supporting the Maintenance Manager & Maintenance Team in the completion of maintenance log documents.
Efficiently managing personal time and meeting all specified deadlines.
Ensuring proper billing and invoicing of third-party service provided.
Interacting with clients / operational and office staff to understand their requirements thoroughly.
Coordinating work processes with other departments of the organization
Selection Criteria
Applicants for this role must demonstrate the following:
Should have minimum 1 year of experience of working as a Handy Person or in a maintenance environment.
And/or
Should have minimum 1 year of experience of working as a Handy Person or in a maintenance environment.
City and Guilds Certificate (electrical, plumber, gas etc)
Certificate to operate scissor and tower lifts.
HSE First Aid Qualification 1981
Essential
Building and equipment maintenance, with a general understanding of plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry.
Sound understanding of using all types of repair tools, equipment and machinery.
HSE requirements.
Aligned to Gambling Legislation, all applicants must be aged 18 or over to work at Aspers.

This role functions in a business that operates evenings and weekends, and as such full flexibility is required. The role will be expected to be available to work for any requirements within Aspers & this will mean evening & weekend obligations outside of normal working hours.
