Merchiston Castle School is seeking to appoint a dynamic teacher to join our thriving Business and Economics department, which is part of the wider Faculty of Global Affairs. There may be scope for incorporating leadership elements, in the form of a Lead Teacher role, for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will start Autumn Term 2025.
As Scotland’s only independent boarding school for boys, Merchiston’s genuine focus is on the needs of each pupil and understanding how to help him thrive. With the support of our caring community, each boy is encouraged to unearth his talents, pursue excellence and flourish in myriad ways.
The successful candidate will play an integral role in the Faculty of Global Affairs, primarily teaching their subjects at A Level but with an ability to teach other subjects, such as BTEC Entrepreneurship, being a distinct advantage. They will have a proven record of successful teaching practices and tailoring programmes to pupils’ needs. They will demonstrate commitment to safeguarding children and young people, excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for education.
