Working Age Mental Health Social Worker SO2 ( 36,124 - 40,476) 37 Hours, Full Time Permanent Hybrid - Home based and Baker Street office (expected to be office based 75%of the week) Application Deadline: 11:59pm 5th February 2025 Shortlisting Date: 6th February 2025 Interview Date: 14th February 2025 Interview Type: In Person Your Role This role will include completing Care Act assessments, support planning and risk assessments. With this element of the role, you will need to ensure legal compliance and knowledge with legislation especially relating to mental health and adult social care will be needed. You will be able to work in a way that is autonomous with a high standard of recording and strengths-based working. You will be working under the Care Act 2014 and will also be expected to complete mental capacity assessments when needed and social circumstance reports. You will be working as part of a duty rota in which you would be office based and supported by a duty manager. This would be dealing with reviews and urgent tasks for cases that are awaiting allocation. You will be joining a well-established team and will be working closely with the community mental health team and other health colleagues. You will need to be able to work in a team but also work autonomously and have experience in mental health and knowledge of the Mental Health Act. You will also be expected to undertake safeguarding enquiries and work in a strengths-based way. You will be expected to follow the values of Stockport and keep the people of Stockport at the heart of what we do. You will be given regular supervision and reflective supervision to manage an appropriate case load. There could also be elements of complex ministry of justice case and case that carry a high level of risk. You will be expected to undertake regular training provided by adult social care. You will be given development reviews and will be expected to work in a hybrid way with being in the office at least 75% of the working week so that support can be offered. There will be an expectation to be in the office more often at the start of the role when starting to get to know the team and induction period. It will be expected that the post holder will have completed the ASYE programme successfully and that you have experience working with people will severe and enduring mental health and people eligible for S117 aftercare and the duties around this. About You We are looking for a social worker who is motivated to get the people of Stockport the care that they need whilst ensuring working in a strengths-based way and maintaining independence of service users and using community resources in an asset based approach. We are looking for someone who is a qualified and experienced social worker who has knowledge, interest and passion about mental health social work. We are looking for someone who has experience of and knowledge of completing complex mental capacity assessments, knowledge of the court of protection and experience of writing such legal court reports. Knowledge of direct payments is also beneficial and social work theory and law relating to adults with severe and enduring mental health.
