About the Role
CERAP UK is seeking a highly skilled Fire Hazards Engineer to join our team in Bristol. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the UK's nuclear renaissance by providing expertise in fire hazards assessment and safety.
This exciting opportunity will see you working on the first generation of nuclear power plants in the UK, driving innovation and progress in the field.
We are looking for an individual who possesses a strong background in safety and/or fire protection technologies, with experience in calculations relating to fire protection and the ability to work with calculation tools.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough fire risk assessments using 3D models, calculation methodologies, and fire requirements issued by architects or clients.
* Analyze 3D models to identify combustible materials and perform temperature change calculations over time for simulated fires.
* Study the risk of damage to systems and monitor changes issued by engineering teams.
* Develop and recommend protection solutions to prevent or minimize the risk of fires.
You will be responsible for dividing buildings into zones for fire protection purposes and recommending detection and firefighting methods for rapid response.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as safety and/or fire protection technologies.
* Knowledge of ETCF (EPR technical code for fire) and UK Fire Regulations including BS9999.
* Experience with calculation tools and software, such as PDMS and Navisworks.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
