The role
SEA-KIT’s head office and manufacturing yard is based in Tollesbury, Essex. You must have the right to work in the UK.
Works as part of the Design & Development team on SEA-KIT’s range of uncrewed surface vessels (USVs), to progress designs from sketch through concept and into production and delivery.
Responsible for problem solving issues arising during vessel (hull) fabrication, and during fit-out in the on-site production facilities.
Ensures designs are fit for purpose and feasible to fabricate, and meet all relevant regulatory and Classification Society rules.
Produces technical reports, weight estimates and stability analyses, and manages weight through the build and fit-out process.
Responsibilities
* Using 2D & 3D CAD software to create and update technical production and client-issued drawings
* Writing and checking of technical reports (feasibility studies, FEA, etc.)
* Performing stability analysis
* Producing weight estimates and structural hand calculations
Who we’re looking for
You have a bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or a similar discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
You have a minimum of 1 year’s relevant shipyard/design office work experience. Graduates are welcome to apply.
You are competent in 2D & 3D CAD software and the Maxsurf software suite.
You are familiar with Classification Society rules and experienced in Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
You are analytical with a strong technical understanding, able to think creatively and have meticulous attention to detail.
You are able to work as part of a team, and have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
