Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated senior clinicians to join our dynamic and innovative early intervention and prevention service. As a band 7, you will work within a supportive team to provide leadership support and develop and oversee a locality-based model across Northumberland County.
The successful candidate will be responsible for line managing and clinically supervising clinicians in the Primary Mental Health Work (PMHW) and Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) in schools, ensuring quality and patient safety is paramount to service provision.
You will work closely with the service lead to ensure financial efficiency and effective use of resources available, as well as holding a clinical case load providing direct care to the client group.
Your skills should reflect an ability to identify gaps in service provision and help develop services to meet the needs of this client group, contributing to the development of provision at the interface of child and adolescent mental health services and schools and colleges.
To increase awareness of the needs of this client group at primary care level, sharing clinical knowledge and expertise using a model of consultation/liaison/teaching and training/research and development with primary care colleagues.
You will promote the three core functions of the mental health support teams - the provision of 1:1 evidenced based interventions, consultation/advice and signposting role, and delivery of whole school approaches with school settings in trailblazer areas.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience of working within child and adolescent mental health services or experience working with children and young people with emotional and behavioral difficulties.
A recognised teaching and training qualification or experience of delivering training is also desirable, as is additional post registration qualification in a specific therapeutic modality including BABCP accredited CBT therapist or other Psychological interventions.
1. Core professional qualification (e.g., first-level nurse, doctorate in psychology, qualified social worker/OT, counseling)
2. Professional registration with a professional body (e.g., NMC, HCPC, BABCP, Social Work England)
3. Specialist post-registration qualification in Child & Adolescent Mental Health or equivalent (i.e., CAMHS degree/CYPIAPT therapeutic modalities)
4. Recognised teaching and training qualification or experience of delivering training
5. Registered mentor if a registered Nurse or willingness to complete this training, experience of delivery clinical supervision/CBT supervision or a qualification in supervision
Additional requirements include a valid driving license and either a car owner able to use the car for work purposes or a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role.
