Role Description
This is a contract role for a Fractional Tech Lead/CTO to work with Launch Lab. You do not have to be based in the UK to apply.
In this role, you will lead and oversee technical assessments of talent, design strategies for evaluating technical candidates, collaborate closely with clients, and provide expert guidance on technology decisions and team composition required for successful delivery.
As a Fractional Tech Lead/CTO, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our clients' technical hiring and project delivery processes meet the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Technical Talent Assessment: Design and conduct comprehensive technical assessments across diverse technologies and frameworks.
* Strategic Guidance: Develop scalable strategies for technical talent evaluation, aligned with client goals and industry best practices.
* Client Collaboration: Partner with client stakeholders to understand their technical requirements, project objectives, and team structures.
* Technical Advisory: Provide expert technical consultation to guide clients in key architectural and technology decisions.
* Leadership: Offer CTO-level insights to support clients' strategic technical growth initiatives.
* Evaluation: Lead technical skill assessments across at least two primary software development languages and multiple frameworks.
* Technical Methodologies: Share insights and best practices on various software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.).
* Communication: Build trusted relationships with clients through clear communication, active listening, and thoughtful challenges to drive deeper understanding and better outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills
* Proven experience as a CTO, Tech Lead, or key role in a senior technical leadership position.
* Hands-on experience leading tech teams, with expertise in at least two primary programming languages and a broad range of frameworks.
* Strong knowledge of all primary software development methodologies and their practical application.
* Demonstrated ability to assess technical skills effectively across a variety of technologies throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
* Excellent active listening and communication skills, with the ability to ask challenging questions and probe deeper into client needs.
* Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable strategies for non-technical stakeholders.
