IT Supplier Manager
About the Team
The Sourcing & Supplier Management team are responsible for identifying, selecting, engaging, on-boarding and managing 3rd parties who provide goods and services across the IT enterprise. With support from legal experts, we negotiate binding contracts with service providers that deliver value across the sourcing lifecycle and ensure Connells Group is paying the optimal price.
About the Role
You will manage your assigned suppliers in accordance with agreed governance processes ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory and statutory obligations is maintained at all times. You will use your commercial knowledge and experience to negotiate and ensure Connells Group is gaining ongoing value from suppliers, assisting your peers in operational teams to maintain productive and healthy relationships where both parties share an investment in a positive outcome.
Responsibilities:
1. Engaging and onboarding new suppliers of required services in accordance with supplier management policies and standards
2. Ensuring contracts, governance approach and service quality measures are appropriate to the value of the engagement and that compliance with regulatory and statutory obligations is embedded throughout the engagement
3. Negotiating the best price for agreed services, considering the end to end lifetime value of the engagement
4. Utilising the control framework for assigned suppliers that is appropriate to the value of the relationship and the criticality of goods/services to successful operation of Connells business
5. Maintaining successful relationships with peers within IT and suppliers
6. Personally, adhering to Connells Group standards and policies including those regulatory and legal obligations that are our passport to do business. Identifying and appropriately escalating if you identify any breaches
Requirements:
7. Experience in an IT Supplier Management function; good understanding IT supplier categories such as Software, Hardware, Software as a Service (SaaS), Network Management Systems and Telecoms.
8. Evidence of ability to establish credibility as a subject matter expert at senior and operational levels.
9. Experience in developing and negotiating robust contracts for IT goods and services with evidence of achieving outcomes that balance the interests of all parties
10. Ability to leverage value across the lifetime of a 3rd party engagement
11. A proven record of dealing with complex projects and meeting conflicting demands
12. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to translate technical language into clear, accurate terminology that non-technical people understand
