Bouygues UK have an exciting opportunity for a career focussed Planning Manager to work on a wide variety of new build construction projects. Some of these projects include Oriel, a joint initiative to transform a two-acre site at St Pancras Hospital to deliver a pioneering eye care, research, and education centre. A state-of-the-art building with an anticipated gross internal area of up to 46,000m2. The West Middlesex - Ambulatory Diagnostic Centre (ADC), valued at £80 million. This state-of-the-art facility would provide diagnostic imaging such as X-ray, CT and MRI as well as cancer treatment and renal dialysis for people with kidney problems.
Essential:
* Ability to manage multiple resources with the Planning Department and multiple project programmes running in parallel
* Proven common forms of contract experience in NEC/JCT
* Mentoring abilities to support staff and provide the platform for personal development within the department.
* Experience of construction projects and process across a broad range of sectors (bias towards commercial, mixed use developments, schools, high end residential preferable)
* Demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of development; design, procurement, construction (structure, architecture, services), commissioning
* Excellent communication skills; ability to quickly and clearly articulate key issues and to listen and capture concerns of others
* Use of specialist planning software (ideally all of Power project, P6, MS Project), will also consider Asta experience
Job Purpose and Scope:
Manage and operate the planning system in accordance with the planning procedures, providing a consistently high level of service. Responsibility of managing the planning resource within pre-construction ensuring effective solutions are provided within the bid process. Manage the planning resource on multiple live projects ensuring the production teams are supported to deliver the project time objectives
