New Vision Bradford is a partnership between the Bridge Project, Project 6 and Waythrough. Under this umbrella, the partnership delivers an adult substance misuse service for the Bradford and Craven District, aiming to help people tackle the misuse of alcohol and drugs and reduce risk taking behaviours through dedicated prevention, intervention, and support.
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to make a real difference and join our team as a Volunteer and Training Coordinator, who will recruit, train and support recovery volunteers, recovery supporters, mentors and trainees for New Vision Bradford. This is a full time, permanent post working 37.5 hours per week.
The post holder will provide, deliver and quality control accredited qualifications at Levels 1 and 2 within the social care sector, primarily to, but not exclusively to, individuals in recovery from substance misuse. Courses are typically delivered to around twenty-five learners with a high completion and accreditation rate and are offered a number of times during the year. We work with a local college provider in the delivery of our accredited programmes and have achieved direct access qualification status, enabling internal accreditation of portfolios by the postholder and other suitably qualified individuals. We are therefore looking for someone who will be the key driver in managing and developing excellent relationships, both internally and with external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have hands on experience of working with volunteers for at least a year and be able to demonstrate their experience in the design and delivery of lesson plans and evaluation of training programmes within a group setting; as well as the ability to provide a flexible and adaptable approach, to develop and deliver services which are accessible and responsive to the needs of volunteers. They will be a confident, enthusiastic communicator, with a high level of organisational skills and know how to deliver effective events including the promotion of them.
A key part of the role is to identify where volunteers can actively support the delivery of services and you will proactively work across the service to ensure the role and value of peer mentors and volunteers are promoted at all stages of the service user’s journey. You will also develop and coordinate in house and external training for peer mentors and volunteers which will enable them to contribute effectively and safely in the delivery of activities and interventions, whilst ensuring that mentors and volunteers have clear roles and responsibilities, regular supervisions and personal development plans and goals.
Bridge is a value driven organisation, and these strong values are the foundation of our organisation stability and are at the heart of what we do. If you would thrive working as part of our team, we would love to hear from you.
In return, as well as a rewarding career, we can offer a competitive salary, 4% pension contribution, generous annual leave entitlement, employee assistance scheme, life insurance, a monthly team wellbeing session and a programme of mindfulness activities for staff. The Bridge Project is a Mindful Employer.
