Long term SEND Teaching Assistant position working in a Primary Mainstream setting, supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), based in Sefton. The school have a specialist SEND provision for Early Years (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) children who all have an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including Autism, Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), and/or Speech, Language and Communication needs. All children have a Behaviour Support Plan, and/or a Positive Handling Plan, tailored specifically to their needs. Some children require support to manage their intimate care needs. There are resources available to best support each individual child. Classes follow the National Curriculum, and there is a large focus on communication and play. Classes are small, and you will be working with children on a one-to-one basis as well as small groups. We are looking for a very nurturing approach, strong communication skills, the ability to work well as a team, and experience of supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is a long-term position with the opportunity for a permanent position direct with school. You will be joining a warm, welcoming, and amazing team. The hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:30pm
