Band 6 Digital Services Systems Administrator
We are currently looking to appoint a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible Band 6 Systems Administrator to join our team of system specialists.
Applications from candidates who have technical experience but do not possess specialist systems knowledge would be welcome, and if successful at interview the role will be offered at Band 5 with progression to Band 6 on full completion of competencies and training.
As a Systems Administrator you will be required to support our Windowsserver environment. This will involve the day-to-day management of virtual servers and associated storage, backups, and other general server infrastructure. The successful candidate will be experienced in IT Infrastructure technologies and be able to demonstrate that they have the skills and drive to be a successful Systems Administrator. You will also be required to take part in an on-call rota and occasional work outside of normal hours.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills within a large busy enterprise server environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate how they have used the problem-solving skills to demonstrate an effective approach to resolving server support issues. Alongside the technical skills you will need to have good interpersonal skills to work with other team members and staff within the Trust. This post is based at the Nottingham Queens Medical Centre, and you will be expected to travel to other sites within the trust when required.

Demonstrable knowledge and experience of supporting Windows based servers and IT infrastructure within an enterprise setting. This will include provisioning, testing, management, support, and maintenance of systems throughout the whole of its life cycle. This will include ensuring that systems exceed our minimum availability targets
Experience of resolving Service Desk calls and underlying problem diagnosis within agreed SLAs or OLAs.
The ability to complete assigned technical tasks to a high standard within given deadlines.
Knowledge and experience in administering security solutions to prevent cyber security incidents.
Proven experience in backing up and restoring Windows servers and associated applications.
Strong communication and document writing skills
