Introduction
We're working with a leading name in aerospace who's looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Systems & Controls Development. In this key role, you'll help shape and maintain the systems that keep their manufacturing processes and product quality running at the highest level.
Please note: Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be ITAR compliant and able to obtain BPSS clearance (or higher).
What will I be doing?
1. Champion a safety-first mindset by ensuring full compliance with aerospace health, safety, and environmental standards.
2. Bring technical expertise to the table by driving local manufacturing improvement projects and resolving vendor-related quality or scheduling issues.
3. Tackle technical challenges head-on identifying risks, spotting opportunities, and boosting product value through smart analysis.
4. Build strong working relationships across the board, collaborating closely with internal teams, external partners, and customers.
5. Lead the charge on continuous improvement by applying Lean principles, rolling out electrical/electronic process enhancements, and managing key projects from start to finish.
6. Embrace cutting-edge tech by integrating SCADA systems, embedded process analytics, networked OEE systems, RFID tracking, automation of batch processes, and contributing knowledge of CMMS systems.
What do I need to succeed?
1. Hold a professional qualification such as HNC, HND, or Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, along with a background in electrical/electronic controls-based engineering.
2. Bring project management experience or formal qualifications to confidently lead and deliver technical projects.
3. Well-versed in IEE Regulations, with additional credentials like a Green or Black Belt in DMAIC.
4. Offer strong technical expertise in manufacturing engineering and automation, ideally within aerospace, automotive, electrical, chemical, or pharmaceutical sectors.
5. Hands-on experience working with high-speed manufacturing environments and embedding advanced automated systems.
6. Proficient in PLC programming (Rockwell/Siemens), knowledgeable in SCADA integration, OEE systems, Industry 4.0 tech, condition-based monitoring, and lean manufacturing techniques.
