We are looking for a Veterinary Care Assistant to join our friendly and motivated team at Rowe Referrals.
The role of a Veterinary Care Assistant is diverse and encompasses a range of responsibilities, including patient restraint, kennel maintenance, and laboratory tasks. You will be expected to be involved in all aspects of patient care, from assisting the nurses with hospitalised patients to theatre duties, stock ordering, and keeping a high standard of cleanliness throughout the whole practice.
An Advanced Team
Created in 2000, Rowe Veterinary Referrals (RVR) is part of the long-established Rowe Veterinary Group (RVG). RVR is a multidisciplinary, multi-site, referral veterinary practice based in North Bristol, South Gloucestershire, and Gloucestershire with an extensive network of outpatient clinics across the Southwest and Wales. We are part of the IVC Evidensia group.
Rowe Veterinary Referrals provides second opinion Veterinary Services across eight disciplines (ophthalmology, dentistry, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, ultrasound, MRI, CT, and radioactive iodine treatment). RVR staff work out of three separate sites, caring for patients referred from Veterinary practices throughout the Southwest and Wales. Tertiary referrals are also seen from across the UK. Our Bristol Hospital is home to most of the referral team and has recently undergone significant building work which has allowed consolidation of the existing referral teams and provide space for growth of our referral services.
Our Ideal Candidate
* Prior animal handling experience is desirable
* Ability to work within a team and independently
* Remain calm and focused under pressure, with a caring and empathetic approach to your work.
* A strong team player with confident and effective communication skills.
* A full, clean driving licence is required as the successful candidate will need to drive the veterinary ambulance between our practices as required.
Working Hours
This is a permanent, full-time role requiring 40 hours per week. There are various shifts between 8:00am and 7:00PM. Shifts will include weekends and bank holidays.
