Position Summary
We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Supply Chain team at York as an Inter Market Supply Shipper.
Your role will be to ensure the operational execution of the IMS Export and Import processes, ensuring compliance with all local and international legislation. Be the first point of contact for customer queries regarding shipping and documentation, working with a customer service mindset.
A day in the life of an Inter Market Supply Shipper
Key responsibilities for this role include:
1. Ensure Market Global Shipping Instructions are up to date with all relevant requirements and/or updates.
2. Make sure that the correct equipment and haulier details are entered on appropriate system for shipments. Keeping the despatch locations updated on expected Exports.
3. Manage the flow of information, customs declarations and regulatory paperwork to enable all orders to depart on time from the UK for successful first-time clearance on arrival.
4. Prepare the Customs paperwork and be able to provide the necessary information to customs authorities if the container is selected for inspection. Have knowledge of how to apply for DEFRA certification if it is a product requirement.
5. Liaise with external and internal agencies to help resolve issues.
6. Provide timely and accurate progress information to stakeholders of their inbound/outbound shipments, including Weekly and Daily Reviews.
7. Be aware of and implement any changes in importing/exporting regulations.
8. Fully root cause issues and help implement long term solutions to continuously improve the process.
What will make you successful
We are looking for someone that is comfortable in working with stakeholders both internally and externally and is happy to challenge and work towards resolutions. The successful candidate will have a flexible approach to working hours and the ability to work well as part of a wider team.
1. Educated to GCSE level inc Maths and English.
2. High degree of accuracy.
3. Knowledge of Windows systems and preferably SAP.
4. Experience of logistics or Demand and Supply Planning an advantage.
5. Familiar with international trade processes and procedures.
6. Ability to demonstrate a customer service mindset.
