As a pioneering organisation that proactively looks to advance technology and services in their industry, and on the back of new growth opportunities, we are leading the search for a part-time Finance Director to join them permanently on a 3 or 4 days per week basis.
Your new role
As the part-time Finance Director, you will lead a team of 6 and be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the company. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Leading and mentoring the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
* Managing long-term project accounting, ensuring all financial aspects of projects are tracked and reported accurately.
* Overseeing cashflow management to ensure the company maintains a healthy financial position.
* Developing and implementing financial strategies to support the company's growth and profitability.
* Preparing and presenting financial reports to the board and senior management.
* Ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
* Managing budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic planning.
* Conducting financial analysis to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
* Collaborating with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
* Handling tax planning and compliance, including VAT and corporate tax.
* Managing relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
What you'll need to succeed
* Extensive experience in long-term project accounting, ideally within the construction or engineering sectors.
* Strong cashflow management experience from an SME background.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a finance team.
* Excellent financial analysis and reporting skills.
* Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
* Ability to develop and implement effective financial strategies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A proactive and strategic mindset with the ability to drive financial performance.
* Relevant accounting qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
