Recruitment Solutions are working with a locally based machine tool manufacturer in Eynsham, Oxfordshire where they implement advanced additive and subtractive manufacturing processes, mainly for semiconductor packaging and solar energy application. They also make a limited number of custom machines for these and other industries. They are seeking a Senior Electrical and Control Systems Engineer to join their team based at their Headquarters in Eynsham, Oxfordshire They are high-value machines which use laser and/or inkjet technology, in combination with CNC mechatronics, for materials processing. They are used for both high volume manufacturing and R&D applications. Markets are global with a large portion of business within Asia. Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum (based on experience) Monday to Friday Permanent Expected start date: Immediate The ideal candidate must be able to reliably commute to Eynsham each day as site location does not offer regular public transport links. This role is focused on electrical and control design of both subsystems and complete machines. The successful candidate will be well versed in regulatory requirements and be responsible to compile the technical file for each project and certify CE compliance. Knowledge and experience in design and testing of safety systems are required along with programming safety controllers. With tight project timescales, getting it right first time is crucial, therefore careful supplier qualification and management is required to ensure any outsourced work or components are received without need for re-work. Roles and Responsibilities: Electrical Assembly: provide standards, instruction and supervision to engineers in our build team and to suppliers of outsourced systems. Safety System Design and Testing: Contribute to risk assessment. Design the safety system and system test procedure. Test the system and create test report. Programme safety controllers Documentation: contribute to system manuals. Supplier Qualification and Management: Identify criteria by which suppliers are selected. Assess and rate suppliers and products. Audit suppliers during execution of orders to ensure specification, schedule and budget is met. Occasional Travel may be needed to other site locations or customer sites (infrequent international travel also to Asia) Collaboration : Work with technical lead, mechanical engineers and other stakeholders on overall specifications and integration requirements. Product Development: Create new or improve current sub-system module designs. Automation Design: Create concept for industrial automation, select suppliers, create mechanical and electrical integration specification. Electrical Design: Responsible for entire system electrical design with integration of specialist sub-systems. Produce drawings and supporting documentation. Standards and Regulatory Compliance: Identify the applicable standards and regulations, compile documentation for and assess CE compliance. Skills and Qualifications REQUIRED Degree in electrical engineering. 8 years field experience, building and testing machinery and control systems. 8 years electrical design experience. Full knowledge and understanding of applicable directives and standards. Safety system design, programming and testing. Full knowledge and understanding of electrical test procedures. High level of quality in documentation. Capability to innovate to improve efficiency of processes and designs Team player with good communications skills PREFERRED Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical Experience with motion control system Interested?
