We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate position in the Commercial Services function at Yorkshire Water.
What we do:
We provide essential water and wastewater services to over 5.4 million people in Yorkshire, ensuring clean drinking water and effective wastewater management. We look after communities, protect the environment, and plan for the future.
THE ROLE:
The Graduate Programme is a two-year programme offering five structured placements within your business area, with selective placements in other areas, including core functions such as Finance, Health & Safety, People, and Procurement. The Commercial Services function covers a number of areas, including innovation opportunities and nature-based solutions.
The role of a Graduate Quantity Surveyor is vital in ensuring that commercial targets and standards are met across our water and wastewater assets.
Where you’ll fit in:
* Participate in commercial and contract management across a diverse supply chain.
* Ensure compliance with contracting processes, procedures, and governance.
* Develop skills in contract administration for construction contracts.
* Monitor and support cost controls, including assessment of interim and final accounts.
* Manage contract and contractor performance, including escalated issues and disputes.
* Engage in risk management processes.
* Involve in developing and managing procurement activity.
* Identify and deliver continuous improvement.
DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES:
Our programme is designed to meet individual needs, providing support from Sponsoring Managers, Graduate Champions, and Mentors throughout your two years.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Minimum 2:1 Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or similar discipline.
* Full Clean UK Driving Licence.
* Enthusiasm and a drive to succeed.

Recruitment Process:
The Assessment Centre will take place from 24th February to 28th February 2025, with final decisions communicated by 22nd March 2025. An information session for successful candidates will be held on the morning of 4th September 2025.
