Role: Procurement Officer - Temporary - Belfast
Job Overview
VANRATH are assisting our client, in their search for a Procurement Officer to join the team on an initial temporary contract. Reporting to the Senior Buyer, you'll play a key role in sourcing materials, processing orders, and managing supplier relationships
* Salary: £30,500
* Temporary, with view to extend
* Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting the Senior Buyer with purchasing raw materials, components, and services.
* Processing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and updating internal systems.
* Liaising with suppliers to confirm orders, negotiate prices, and resolve any issues.
* Maintaining accurate procurement records, including invoices, contracts, and supplier details.
* Monitoring stock levels and ensuring timely replenishment of materials.
* Conducting market research and supplier evaluations to support procurement decisions.
* Ensuring all purchases comply with company policies and industry regulations.
* Supporting cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
What We're Looking For
* Some experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain (manufacturing experience preferred).
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ideally experience with ERP or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
* A proactive and problem-solving mindset.
* A relevant qualification in procurement, business administration, or supply chain management is a plus.
* Studying towards or interested in a CIPS qualification is desirable.
