Recruitment Consultant - Interim Legal & Governance
Allen Lane are supporting a Local Authority on their recruitment for an interim Litigation Solicitor. Seeking a qualified legal professional to provide cost-effective, high-quality legal services in planning and regulatory law.
Key Responsibilities
1. Handle a diverse range of legal matters, offering advice and drafting contracts, agreements, and deeds, with a focus on planning and regulatory law.
2. Conduct legal research and provide guidance on community protection, licensing, environmental health, regulatory law, and local government matters.
3. Prepare reports and attend committee meetings as required.
4. Draft and review legal documents, including instructions to Counsel and other key reports.
5. Represent the authority in legal proceedings, including court cases and planning inquiries.
Required Experience & Qualifications
1. Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives.
2. Law degree (minimum 2:2) or equivalent, with eligibility for a practicing certificate.
3. Knowledge of local government law and regulatory frameworks.
4. Experience handling planning and regulatory legal matters.
5. Proficiency in drafting legal documents and advising on complex legal issues.
6. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
The position requires court attendance (typically twice per month).
