Job Description
Our client, a high-volume, multi-process innovator in automotive manufacturing, is seeking a collaborative and strategic Senior Finance Manager/Director, Plant Finance Measurements & Processes to drive common company-wide operating metrics and best tools. This role oversees all facilities in Southern Ontario & Michigan and requires travel to these sites on a monthly basis (approximately). Multi-plant oversight is essential.
The Job:
1. Drive processes in support of the forecast & budgeting activities at the plant level, ensuring appropriate linkages between financial and operating metrics.
2. Implement management systems to support the achievement of key plant initiatives.
3. Leadership in identifying risks/opportunities and providing headlights on financial trends and variances to forecasts/budgets.
4. Provide financial and business advice & recommendations to the plant management teams to support driving operational excellence and achievement of targets.
5. Drive profit opportunities including assessment of government funding programs, partnering closely with Corporate Finance management.
6. Ownership for deploying common financial tools and standardized processes & reporting to support achievement of profit targets and plant operating initiatives.
7. Support senior management in assessing profitability through key tools including the review of new program quote assumptions versus actuals (3-panel tool).
8. Support Sales, Cost Estimating, and Senior Management in quote and repricing activities by driving processes to refresh capacity models, work centre burden rates, and labour cost models.
9. Partner with Directors of Operations and Plant Managers in assessing and deploying new reporting tools focused on material flow, supply chain, and quality.
10. Support Materials and Sales team in driving key initiatives, including activities related to new program launches, corporate-to-plant hand-offs, etc.
11. Co-ordinate financial activities to support union negotiations, including refreshing the labour cost model assumptions across plants.
12. Lead the Measurements focus and other key initiatives in the Plant Managers’ workshops.
13. Support the plants in performing risk assessments and develop, support & monitor business control requirements to ensure risks are effectively mitigated.
14. Perform internal audits, as required.
15. Develop & train staff to ensure a highly engaged team and the alignment of financial skills to the business needs.
16. Drive the ‘one-team’ culture through collaboration, partnerships, and open communication.
Requirements:
1. University Business Degree
2. Accounting / Finance experience at a Senior level, with a deep understanding of cost accounting
3. Manufacturing experience required; Automotive industry experience preferred
4. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and other key operating principles
5. Management experience
6. Strong computer skills: Excel, Word, etc.
7. Effective written and verbal communication skills
8. Strong organizational, collaboration, and team building skills

$150,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
