The project:
Mace is seeking to appoint an experienced temporary works coordinator to join this rapidly growing and successful part of the business. The TWC is required to work in Plymouth on an upgrade programme of works within a nuclear licenced site. The key roles will be to plan, direct, manage and oversee implementation of any temporary works (in line with BS5975) to ensure the clients goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed schedule, budget and defined health, safety, and quality parameters. Effective communication with client, contractor and sub-contractors, consultants, management of client and project stake holders is required.

You’ll be responsible for:
5. Assist the PM or SM.
6. Key contact for all temporary works issues on the project including liaison with tier 1 contractors temporary works teams, temporary and permanent works designers, other members of the project team.
7. Responsible for the implementation of the Babcock temporary works procedure.
8. Establish and maintain the project temporary works register - a register to be kept updated from temporary works registers prepared and maintained by trade contractors.
9. Ensure that a design brief is prepared and issued to the temporary works designer.
10. Maintain the filing of temporary works records.
11. Duty of ensuring that all the relevant procedures, inspections and checks are carried out.
12. Coordinate all temporary work activities. Focus on the interfaces between work zones and/or trade contractors. Communicating to all relevant parties where temporary works of one contractor may adversely affect those of another.
13. Reviewing temporary works proposals from the design teams and trade contractors with support from the Babcock project engineer, package managers, clerk of the works, etc.
14. Participate in weekly/pre-start look ahead meetings to identify and resolve temporary works and loading items in the “blocker/constraints schedule”.
15. Ensure that loadings (actions) from temporary works which may affect the permanent works are accepted by the permanent works designers.
16. Ensure that temporary works permits are approved and communicated to other members of the Babcock site team.
17. Review, assessment & appointment of Babcock TWSs where required for large or complex projects.
18. Ensure that detailed trade contractor procedures for the control of temporary works are produced and implemented through their own TWC.
19. Review the proposed appointment of the trade contractors TWCs in accordance with Babcock temporary works procedure.
You’ll need to have:
20. Experience and knowledge in the administration of NEC contracts.
21. Experience and knowledge working as temporary works coordinator with CITB qualification.
22. Digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
23. Have experience in the defence and nuclear.
24. Construction delivery experience, ideally in nuclear/defence projects.
25. Temporary works background (co-ordinator role).
26. Site H&S management experience
27. PM plus: project or site manager with strong experience in temp works.
