You The YMCA West Kent Horizon Project is seeking a Construction/Carpentry Tutor to join our friendly team, 4 days per week, working with young people aged 16 to 19 with SEND to achieve their City & Guilds qualifications. We are a small workshop setting, working with a talented cohort of young people with clear practical skills who thrive in an environment that is much more personal and aligned with the needs of individuals rather than classes. Our Construction, Maths, English and Personal Development curriculum is delivered in a supportive manner, without the pressure of a school or college setting. The successful candidate will be professional, flexible, a good team-player, willing to occasionally join in with other activities, patient and supportive, and able to deliver City & Guilds to a high standard. Minimum Level 3 Assessor's Award Experience teaching teenagers / young adults construction and carpentry Knowledge of SEND, preferably with experience of working with young people with SEND Knowledge / experience of City & Guilds Level 1 Diplomas in Construction (6219) (and Carpentry 6706 - preferable but not essential) US Thank you for your interest in finding out more about YMCA Thames Gateway Group.
