1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – January 2025 start Are you a dedicated Teaching Assistant who is looking to provide 1:1 support for a child with additional needs? We are currently seeking a passionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work in the Hyndburn area. Location: Hyndburn, Lancashire. Pay: £12.90 - £14 per hour. Full-time Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 15:30pm Responsibilities: Build strong relationships with children and their families, through a nurturing approach. Be approachable and have regular contact with the child’s family. Provide a safe and inclusive environment so that the pupil can achieve their full potential. Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher and other professionals such as SENCO, educational psychologists, speech and language therapists. Then be able to implement suggested strategies. Recognise and identify gaps in children’s learning and communicate this with the class teacher so that interventions can be planned and delivered. Have a calm and consistent approach so that the pupil can have a clear school routine. Have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a passion for education Promote the inclusive school ethos each day. Requirements: Previous experience working with children who have additional needs. Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent. An understanding of the National Curriculum. An enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn. The highest commitment to safeguarding and ensuring the safety of pupils. Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service. Experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
