The post holder will support in the provision of a safe and effective Ophthalmology failsafe service and provide a comprehensive, efficient and effective service to the department. The post holder will support the Ophthalmology team to develop and maintain risk stratification Standard Operating Procedures relating to patient pathways and follow up requirements. The post holder will work autonomously, reporting to the Service Co-ordinator and follow the precedents set in the role and guided by defined policies, protocols and procedures. The post holder will also work as part of a Multi-disciplinary team and will provide expertise in the proactive management of Ophthalmology patient pathways from referral to discharge, ensuring the entire pathway is managed smoothly. The Post holder will ensure high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer focused and knowledgeable point of contact. To provide consistent approach across the Trust, using standard operating procedures to ensure that functions of the role are carried out within given time scales
