Reporting into the Head of Data Management, the Data Governance Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the organization’s data governance strategy. You are responsible for establishing and enforcing data governance policies and procedures.
What you’ll be doing as a Data Governance Manager
* Develop and articulate the organisations data governance vision, strategy and roadmap
* Design, document and implement data governance policies, standards and procedures
* Work closely with IT and business stakeholders to define data governance strategies aligned with organisational objectives
* Collaborate with various stakeholders, including IT teams, business units and data owners
* Activate and enforce the data governance program vision. Promote the role of governance and ensure policy compliance
* Ensure that master data is accurately represented, consistently defined and easily accessible across the organisation
* Provide training and education to the organisation on data governance principles and the importance of master data quality
* Implement metadata management processes to capture and maintain data lineage, definitions, and dependencies
Base Location: Reading - Hybrid

* Experience in data management practices including trusted data, data protection and data policies
* Proven experience in leading data governance initiatives, developing and implementing data governance frameworks and driving data governance council meetings
* Leadership skills with the ability to influence and inspire others, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment
* Experience with tools for data governance and Master Data Management
* Understand data security, privacy and compliance regulations
* Deep understanding of modern cloud big data approaches
* Experienced in agile iterative project management approaches
* Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools such as Python or Power BI
