Your Role as Deputy Manager As Deputy Manager, you will be a vital member of the leadership team, working alongside the Registered Manager to provide high-quality care, ensure compliance, and create a safe and supportive home environment for young people. Key Responsibilities: Leading and Developing the Team – Supervise, mentor, and support Senior & Residential Support Workers to maintain a safe and structured environment. Delivering High-Quality Care – Ensure all care meets Ofsted and The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 standards. Safeguarding Leadership – Act as a safeguarding lead, ensuring the safety, welfare, and protection of all young people in the home. Managing Individualised Care Plans – Oversee and update personalised care plans tailored to each young person’s educational, emotional, and health needs. Collaborating with External Professionals – Work closely with social workers, therapists, and education providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for young people. Driving Best Practice – Implement policies and procedures to maintain high standards, compliance, and consistency. Stepping into Leadership – Take full responsibility for the home in the Registered Manager’s absence, ensuring seamless operations. What We Are Looking For We are looking for an ambitious, proactive, and compassionate leader who is committed to providing outstanding residential care and supporting young people in overcoming challenges. Essential Requirements: Experience – At least two years in a residential children’s home, supporting young people with EBD needs. Qualifications – Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent). Regulatory Knowledge – A solid understanding of Ofsted standards, safeguarding principles, and The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015. Leadership Skills – Ability to supervise staff, lead shifts, and develop a strong, motivated team. Communication & Organisational Abilities – Ability to engage effectively with young people, colleagues, and external professionals.
