About the Litigation Team Leader Lawyer role:
Sellick Partnership is currently working with a striving Local Authority in the East Midlands that is seeking a qualified Litigation Lawyer on a permanent basis.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with initiative, a proactive approach to problem solving, and a real commitment to the job. This is a great opportunity to join a tight-knit, friendly team.
Both full-time and part-time applicants will be considered; however, full-time is preferred.
The successful Litigation Lawyer will be responsible for, but not limited to:
* Providing legal advice and representation in relation to litigation and regulatory work including possession claims, anti-social behaviour claims, disrepair claims, taxi licensing, premises licensing, and environmental offences.
* Supervising and developing staff within the legal team, admin team, and information governance team, including identifying training needs and development opportunities.
* Assisting the Head of Legal and Support Services and Legal Services Team Manager on any other legal matters arising, as required.
The role is predominantly remote working; however, the council hosts a number of team days and meetings where in-person attendance is a must, along with court attendance as needed.

Experience required for the Litigation Lawyer role:
Prospective candidates need to be a qualified solicitor, legal executive, or barrister, have previous experience in Litigation Law and Local Authority Law, and hold a full UK driving licence.
