Join Our Client's Team as a Maintenance Trailer Fitter!
Position: Maintenance Fitter Location: North Killingholme Salary: £15.50PH Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 - 17:00
Our client wishes to recruit a Maintenance Fitter to work within their busy Line Equipment Workshop and expanding Ro-Ro Terminal. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and have a flexible, professional, and pro-active approach to work.
Key Duties:
1. Carry out diagnostic and repair work to a wide range of shipping equipment, including road trailers and other shipping line equipment like Mafi's, skellies, etc.
2. Perform mechanical and electrical work on road-going trailers, including braking and suspension systems, lighting, and ABS faults, ensuring work is carried out to a safe and legal standard.
3. Follow scheduled maintenance and inspection plans in accordance with individual shipping equipment guidelines.
4. Conduct detailed inspections and repairs to company standards.
5. Undertake welding and fabrication work, requiring a good understanding of MIG welding.
Requirements:
1. Good work ethic with strong organisational skills.
2. Ideally a time-served apprentice or equivalent with experience in mechanical and electrical diagnostics and repairs.
3. Formal welding and fabrication qualification or proven welding ability.
4. Previous experience in a similar role with knowledge of lighting, braking, and suspension systems.
5. Pro-active approach towards problem-solving, workload, and time management with good knowledge of Health and Safety.
6. Good interpersonal and communication skills, along with basic computing skills.
7. Ability to prioritise workload and work within a team.
8. Flexible approach to work, willing to cover when required and undertake any duties to contribute to the day-to-day running of the line equipment workshop.
