We've created an exciting Commodity Manager role to be responsible for our Transport & Logistics functions across our Actuation Systems business. In this role you will manage and take ownership of Logistics spend, and increase the profitability of the site by procuring fit for purpose materials and services at the most competitive cost. We're looking for someone with excellent stakeholder management skills who can manage up as well as down. You will be data driven but have the ability to use that data to make informed business decisions. Based in Wolverhampton but as outlined, supporting all Actuation sites internationally, you will play an active role in developing and delivering commercial strategies for their commodity areas, leveraging volume and business partnering. What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like? - Guarantee Supply & Quality - Secure a continuous supply chain with clear, defined quality standards. - Drive Smart Decision-Making - Provide strategic recommendations to Business Units, challenging requirements when needed and ensuring alignment for a seamless decision-making process. - Embed Procurement in the Business - Foster customer engagement where procurement plays a vital, integrated role. - Shape Category Strategies - Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, develop category strategies, and secure business sign-off at key levels. - Translate Global Strategy into Action - Convert global commodity strategies into European execution plans, aligning our global sites to maximise synergies. - Negotiate & Compete - Lead tenders, conduct in-depth analysis, and create negotiation strategies to challenge suppliers and secure the best commercial outcomes-without compromising on quality or service. - Support Business Growth - Ensure procurement readiness for launches, securing new suppliers and contracts for required materials. - Enforce Procurement Excellence - Uphold procurement policies, processes, and spend compliance rules across all categories. - Maximise Quality, Service & Cost Efficiency - Develop and manage category strategies that balance top-tier quality, service, and cost, while driving continuous innovation. - Optimise Supplier Selection - Search, qualify, and onboard suppliers aligned with strategic objectives. - Lock in Strong Contracts - Negotiate robust agreements, embedding KPIs and SLAs tailored to business needs. - Elevate Supplier Performance - Monitor key metrics, drive action plans, and continuously enhance supplier performance. - Innovate Through Supplier Collaboration - Build sustainable partnerships that unlock added value and innovation. - Harness Expertise for Innovation - Leverage category knowledge to identify and drive continuous improvement and innovation.
