Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work with students on a one-to-one and small group basis. A key part of your role will be supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to ensure they have full access to the curriculum and can achieve their potential. Key Responsibilities: * Support Classroom Teaching: Assist the teacher, ensuring that all students, including those with SEN, have the appropriate resources and support to access learning. * SEN Support: Work with students with special educational needs (SEN), both individually and in small groups, helping them to engage with the lesson and meet their learning objectives. * Personalised Learning: Implement tailored support plans for students with additional learning needs, including facilitating specific interventions and monitoring their progress. * Student Progress: Observe and monitor the progress of students, particularly those with SEN, and provide feedback to the teacher to help plan for next steps. * Supportive Environment: Foster an inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued, supported, and confident to participate. * Classroom Management: Assist the teacher in maintaining a positive classroom environment by supporting behavior management and promoting good learning habits. * Resource Preparation: Help the teacher prepare learning materials and activities that are appropriate for the needs of the class, ensuring that resources are accessible for all students. * Communication: Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and other staff to ensure the needs of all students are met. Engage with parents as required, to provide updates on student progress. * Professional Development: Participate in training and professional development opportunities provided through Applebough Education to continue developing skills and knowledge in the education sector. Essential Requirements: * Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or equivalent). * Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). * A good understanding of the primary school curriculum. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues. * Ability to manage classroom behavior and foster a positive learning environment. * Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children’s educational and emotional development. * The ability to work independently and as part of a team. * A willingness to engage in professional development and further training. Desirable: * Experience working with children who have specific learning needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia). * Additional SEN qualifications or training (e.g., Makaton, PECS, behavior management). * First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain
