Job Description
Operating 4 different types of FLT in a warehouse based role, the Warehouse Team Leader will assist the Shift Manager in ensuring that all labour is effectively used in a safe and productive way. The Warehouse Team Leader will also be responsible for providing holiday and absence cover for the Op’s Controller using the WMS to manage workflow in and out of the warehouse, managing arriving drivers and liaising with the customer’s transport teams. This role is an excellent starting point for a Management career path within an FMCG company dealing with high profile customers.
Main Responsibilities as a Warehouse Team Leader:
1. Manage and motivate the shift team in order to ensure that productivity and service KPIs are achieved or exceeded
2. Manage Goods Inwards area and Loading bays to ensure that receipts are made quickly and without damaging goods so that stock is available to satisfy orders
3. Develop and train all team members so that their contributions to the warehouse can be maximised and succession plan
4. Carry out disciplinary/ grievance interviews and investigations in line with Company procedure
5. Support the Shift Manager in any ad hoc duties within the Warehouse function
6. Over see the cross docking process
7. Ensure that the work place is clean and tidy at all times
8. Carry out daily shift briefs to their teams and ensure that their teams are kept up to date with all relevant information to enable them to carry out their work.
9. Ensure that all areas of the warehouse comply with the companies Health, Safety and Welfare policies.
10. Monitor and control the work environment to ensure that it is operating to its optimum efficiency.
11. Ensure that the shifts performance is in line with the work load and Key Performance Indicators.
12. Ensure that the available resources are utilised to there full potential at all times.
Qualifications
13. Able to demonstrate a high level of detail.
14. Able to manage own time to achieve daily targets efficiently and effectively.
15. Team player who can also work on own initiative.
16. Excellent communication skills.
17. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
18. Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills.
19. Flexibility in approach to work and shift patterns.
20. PC literate in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
21. Ability to work at height
22. Previous FLT/MHE experience required.
23. VNA experience desired but not necessary.
24. Exposure to WMS would be an advantage.
