Key Responsibilities:
Category Strategy Development
* Lead the development of high-impact category strategies, balancing short-term sales goals with the long-term growth objectives of Noli
* Collaborate with executive leadership to align category strategies with overall business objectives
* Identify key growth opportunities, leverage market insights and proactively adapt to market trends
* Work in collaboration with Business Development Lead to optimise product mix
* Own the category P&L, ensuring profit optimisation in line with Noli growth strategy
* Manage the budget related to sales targets, promotional activities and markdowns
Leadership & Team Development
* Manage and mentor Category Lead, providing direction, feedback and support to ensure consistent and effective performance
* Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement within the category management team
* Develop training plans and career development paths for team members, ensuring skills and knowledge stay current with industry advancements
Trading Plan Development & Execution
* Set and manage financial goals for each category, including sales, profitability and inventory
* Develop a competitive trading plan, appropriate to the value proposition of Noli
* Drive retail price and discount strategy to optimise sales within Brand and Business case guardrails
* Work with marketing to plan and negotiate appropriate share of brand media / traffic
* Agree with supplier appropriate level of differentiation within a marketing activation plan
Cross-functional Collaboration
* Partner with growth marketing to execute and optimise the trading plan
* Work with eMerchandiser to optimise merchandising, product descriptions and imagery
* Work with CRM to optimise user engagement
* In collaboration with BDM, ensure new product launches are aligned with category goals
* Partner with the digital and marketing teams to enhance Noli experience, product presentation and buying journeys on Noli
Sales Performance & Analysis
* Monitor and analyse category sales, margins and inventory turnover
* Conduct full P&L PEA to understand the efficacy of promotional activity
* Identify best-sellers and slow movers to recommend category development or discons
* Own RGM levers within the Category to optimise performance
Inventory Management
* Partner with supply teams to plan and manage inventory levels ensuring product availability without overstocks
* Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure accurate forecasting and replenishment
* Adjust purchase orders based on sales trends, seasonality, and promotional activity
Requirements for the role:
* Demonstrable leadership experience in category management, merchandising or buying in beauty or related consumer goods. eCommerce experience is highly preferred.
* Results driven: Proven track record in developing and executing category strategies that drive growth and profitability.
* Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with expertise in market analysis, forecasting and financial modelling. Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with eCommerce analytics tools.
* Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of beauty products, ingredients and trends. Passionate about beauty and wellness with the ability to speak authentically to customers and stakeholders.
* Supplier Management: Experience managing supplier relationships, negotiating terms and driving partnerships for mutual success.
* Customer-Centric Mindset: Commitment to understanding and anticipating customer needs and desires, particularly in the beauty space.
* Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Adaptability & Initiative: Comfortable in a fast-paced, early-stage environment where agility, innovation and hands-on problem-solving are essential.
