An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Benefits Governance and Standards team as a Pensions Technical Knowledge and Capability Manager based in Darlington, hybrid working, on a permanent basis. The role This role will report into the Director of Governance and Standards and will be responsible for creating and maintaining an in-depth technical knowledge of the Railway Pension Schemes, through the design and delivery of a technical learning and development plan to ensure that colleagues have the knowledge and tools to perform their roles effectively and to the best of their ability. By working in collaboration with other teams within the Benefits Function and HR Learning and Development colleagues, you will be responsible for the development and documentation of technical knowledge and be the custodian of the knowledge bank. As the Pensions Technical Knowledge and Capability Manager you will also be responsible for developing a comprehensive capability framework which clearly identifies knowledge requirements and expectations at each level and aligns to the Benefits People Strategy, Customer Charter, and member first vision. The role will work with team managers to ensure there is continual, consistent assessment across teams. This role will also be responsible for the development of technical Trustee and Employer knowledge materials. The person We are looking for someone who proven track record of building capability frameworks and designing a technical learning a development plan whilst leading, developing and coaching direct reports. To be successful in this role you will have effective communication skills to be able to document and support the delivery of complex processes to a range of audiences, both in a verbal and written form. You will be collaborative and supportive in your approach, with the ability to constructively challenge assumptions and established practices. Previous experience of working with the pensions sector is highly desirable for this role.
