Your New Role We have a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Planner (Highways) to join our dynamic team in Area 7 based across the East Midlands, located at our depot based in Felley, Nottinghamshire, working within our Reactive Planning Team. The Electrical Planner (Highways) plays an important part inplanning, maintaining, and delivering the highway cyclic and reactive maintenance programme in Area 7. Working with National Highways, Amey maintain over 700 kilometres of roads across the East Midlands, ensuring the 4.5 million citizens across the East Midlands experience better journeys every day. The value of the contract is worth £50 million per annum. We provide maintenance and response across a vast area of some of the UK's busiest motorways and strategic highways across the east midlands and north of England. As many as 180,000 vehicles a day use certain sections of this vital network. The standard hours of work are 37.5 hrs per week, and the role is initially to provide maternity cover until February 2026. You will be responsible for: Develop and manage the programme for Area 7 annually, to include working with the operational and commercial teams, developing a programme that is a safe, efficient, and effective forward programme for the lifetime of the contract, to include profiled resourcing requirements Track progress, incorporate changes and forecast delivery dates and expenditure Coordinate within the team to develop and integrate with the cyclical and reactive maintenance programmes. Engage with the Client and other key stakeholders through regular communications including weekly / monthly planning meetings and other forums. Prepare periodic reports, statistics, and answers to enquiries concerning the programme Ensure high standards of programming and road space booking are carried out to meet client and contract requirements Develop and improve working practices and seek innovative solutions. We want to hear from you if you have: Highly organised with an excellent attention to detail and meticulous approach. Advanced use of the Microsoft Office suite (excel) and preferably but not essential Primavera P6, plus other tools/systems as defined by the project or client. Preferable but not essential experience of highways maintenance operations. Ideally but not essential you will have experience in the use of Primavera P6, and knowledge in highways maintenance operations and be able to demonstrate project management skills. In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have experience in planning/project management to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
